HISTORY

  Chef and owner of Syrenka, Krystyna Florczak took over the restaurant over 10 years ago has kept the original recipes along with some of her own. She is a self taught cook born and raised in Poland dedicated to providing the best tasting Polish food in Philadelphia.

  The restaurant has been around since the 1970's and is a landmark in Port Richmond. The original owners came from Warsaw which explains the name of the restaurant "Syrenka" which means mermaid and is the crest of Warsaw. Syrenka is known for it's daily homemade soups, generously sized pierogies, filling potato pancakes and amazing stuffed cabbage. Though it is a small cafeteria style restaurant that only fits about 35 people sitting it's food speaks for itself.
